Pectus Excavatum in Women

Pectus Excavatum in Women
Pectus chest deformity on women has very little representation and many woman feel the need to hide it. Some go through the Nuss Procedure which is a procedure that involves a concave stainless steel bar that is slipped under the sternum with the assistance of a scope (small camera) using two small incisions on each side of the chest. The bar is then flipped, and the sternum moves to the proper position in hoping to fix their funnel chest deformity. I feel unless the deformity is causing troubling health concerns and discomfort, I think learning to embrace it instead is more valuable than going through the intense cosmetic surgery.

I am a women who has scars from open heart surgery as well and want to show that even a scared and deformed body can be seen as normalized.
